Did you know that you could just buy some very old Panini sticker albums with full sticker collections in their official online store? o__O
At one point last week I was just curious to see if Panini ever published any Sonic the Hedgehog sticker albums and moments later I fell into this rabbit hole. Back in the 90s I had two sticker albums made by this company that I absolutely loved and cherished: Мир Животных (1996) [image found here] and Jonny Quest (1997) [image found here]. I've never had a chance to finish any of them, but my parents definitely spent a lot of money on sticker packs, and I still have a big pile of doubles somewhere at their place.
And now I've followed my bad nostalgia consumerism instincts and got this Il Pianeta Blu (1995) sticker album with the full sticker collection:
I would like to scan the empty album and all the stickers before actually completing it, but I don't have a scanner anymore, so I'll have to postpone this project.
I'm honestly quite surprised by the condition it arrived in, considering that it was stored somewhere for almost 30 years. One unfortunate thing though is that the rubber bands started melting and leaving yellow stains on the top and bottom stickers of the packs, so I had to replace the bands and try to clean the stickers. But still — only a couple of packs were affected by that and the stain area is just the width of the band, so that's not a big deal.
What I am really excited about is that this album has transparent stickers of sea creatures that you need to put on big pages representing their habitat *o*
Would love to see in the comments if you had any sticker albums that you loved! I feel like this must have been a thing that affected a lot of kids, at least in the 90s.
