I was gifted really cool stuff for my recent birthday and I wanted to share the presents in my blog ^__^
First of all, not one but two sealed LEGO Galidor sets that my partner was lucky to get cheap at a local online marketplace — some local LEGO collector was getting rid of sets he didn't need. I never had these when I was a child, and didn't even remember them from the LEGO catalogues I used to look through constantly instead of, for example, reading a book. But I fell in love with the concept after watching the RR Slugger video about Galidor, and I managed to find a couple of used sets with some missing parts shortly after that in late 2023.

This has unleashed my used-LEGO-collecting-and-MOC-building era and I genuinely loved messing around with Galidor joints, but I couldn't bring my two sets with me for the big move, so, after I started buying some LEGO sets again after the move, I wanted to eventually get some Galidor sets as well.
This was also my first time having a really old LEGO set in a perfectly sealed condition, and, I gotta say, it feels so surreal that these two boxes look like they were just bought at a local toy store. I can't stop thinking now how I would love to mess up some kid's childhood by gifting them cool toys from long ago in a perfect sealed condition that none of their friends could have. Would they be the coolest at their local playground? If someone who's reading this can do this as a little experiment, please let me know how it goes.
I was also gifted a Макс Фрай book by a friend of mine! It's from a new series that I had no idea existed — I was a big fan in my mid-teens, but I stopped reading near the end of the second book series, so I didn't even think about the possibility of a third one. These books started in the 90s and are probably the biggest isekai fantasy series for adults in Russia?...
Fun fact: the only person I knew who was big into Макс Фрай (and who basically got me into reading the books) was also the only person I knew who shortly after became a big Homestuck fan, so this Макс Фрай <-> Homestuck connection never left my mind.
Anyway, I'm excited to freshen up my memories of these books and start reading this new one <3
