Last winter, when there was almost no snow at all during the season, me and my partner started planning to go somewhere close to the Alps to experience the normal winter (with snow) that we've been always used to. After this year's rainy New Year's Eve we decided that it was time to go, so we bought cheap train tickets to München, and a month later went on our short touristy trip. Surprisingly though, it's been pretty consistently snowy where we live after we booked everything in January (:
It was only for a couple days, but:
- We've successfully managed to meet with our long-time internet friend, who took us on an exciting night tour through the city's central parks. I, foolishly, decided not to bring my camera with me, and instantly regretted it.
- We saw the Alps and spent some time in (and on top of) some of them! Photo posts about that later.
- We went to the "Der Blaue Reiter" exhibition at Lenbachhaus, which I enjoyed a lot and learned a lot about Kandinsky's life from.
I think, so far, München's U-Bahn might be my favourite in Germany. I like the round blue train cars (especially their big windows) (just realised that I forgot to take a photo of one...), somehow they feel more spacious than other U-Bahn cars I've been in. I also really liked the plastic-y interior design of the Sendlinger Tor U-Bahn station.
This photo collection is a very chaotic representation of our last day in München and contains glimpses of what I've mentioned in this post.
