Unfortunately, I can't find time for blogposting nowadays, because usually I would try to prioritize my time for developing games, or learning German, or doing LifeStuff. Whatever I have in my unpublished backlogs requires a lot of time to get it finished, so I keep postponing it. I still have the Posting Needs in me though, so here's a classic repost-post from me :)
Music
- Omichive's Bookshelf: Korean Indie pt. 2 by Omichive — beautiful and sad mix of Korean emo(-adjacent) music I heard live on NTS during one of my game development nights. Still need to listen to Part 1!
- Asuka Sakai on Katamari, to a T, and Rewriting the Rules of Game Music for 30 years by Tasty Bits — you've probably already seen this interview with the legendary VGM composer Asuka Sakai, but I'm still reposting it in case you still need to watch it.
Video Games
- DRIVE-IN JAM (August 29 - October 4, 2026) by DOMINO CLUB — new Domino Club season! Haven't played all of the games yet, but I really enjoyed "hotwife chronicle", "rest stop", and "the sun never sets for those who ride into it".
Literature
- I Found Evidence Of My House Spinning by blackle mori — amazing paranormal story in a beautiful form of a forum thread.
- What The Fuck Is The HVC Color Composer? by Andrew Hussie — painful and sincere autobiographical piece. My Top 3 of everything Hussie has ever published. Highly recommend reading it even if you have negative feelings about Homestuck. Andrew "flouncing their riches" from "all those Adobe patents" has been a running meta joke between me and my partner, but, turns out, those patents are a sad story.
Web
- You should just download your favorite YouTube content and put it on a hard drive in your home by Laura Michet — I totally agree with Laura and have been doing the same for some time already. Really good arguments for continuing doing that.
- The Archivist In Me Turned This Blog Into a Book by Wouter Groeneveld — Making a physical book out of a personal blog is such a powerful move... I really enjoyed reading about the process and all the production details.
TV
- Wake Up Seattle Episode 1 by Alex Moore & Keeks — the best TV show is out there on youtube! Alex (they / them) going around Seattle, attending local community events, and interviewing people — sounds simple, but it's so powerful when done right. Knowing this format in its sincere form since Серёжа и Микрофон (Russian attempt at doing the same thing), it really shows how drastically the energy can vary depending on the host (Сергей Мезенцев can go to hell).
Skateboarding
- Soul II Sole – The challenges of starting a skate footwear brand in Europe by Will (Free Skateboard Magazine) — fantastic deep dive into the history of European skateboarding apparel brands. How the hell are we still getting such great longreads (especially about skateboarding) on the Internet in this day and age...
- Skaters Tour Portland by THERE Skateboards — the most known queer skate team have been posting vlog videos from their trip to PNW. Fun to watch and, as always, very inspirational :) There's also a video from Seattle.
Automobiles
Here I'm just going to recommend some Alloy Magazine articles that I enjoyed reading
- SwissAmericana by Cole Pennington — an interesting perspective on how the United States influenced the Switzerland culture in the past, and how it turned into mass nostalgia nowadays.
- Master of All by Alex Kierstein — a very brief look into the history of Hako Multicar from East Germany that I personally have never heard of, but that I'm willing to learn more about now.
- Untested by Doug Sonders — driving a new car home across huge distances is something I've seen many times on youtube already, but it was the first time for me seeing a similar roadtrip in written form. Fun read!
