Reentering The Library Society

Last week I finally got a library card at my local city library! I also visited a library for the first time since... 2019? It took me a long while to unfreeze from my language barrier freeze just enough to go inside and ask for a library card. And then I was just free to choose whatever I saw on the shelves and then check the items out at an automatic checkout stand? Wow... Technology!

My local library actually has a very nice selection of film / tv show DVDs (the flagship MediaMarkt in Hamburg isn't even close, lol). From a short skimp through the shelves I've already noticed a few films from my letterboxd watchlist that I will definitely pick up next time I go there.

I also saw a box of Race for the Galaxy on their board game shelves... Would be nice to go there one day and just play that game again (our copy is who knows where at this point).

For my first library checkout I took two easy German books for kids: Moby Dick and some Sherlock Holmes story. I also took a DVD set of the first Star Trek DS9 season with me. Me and my partner started watching the show last year when we were trying to find use of a Netflix gift card, but didn't get too far. Now we have about a week and a half to finally finish the season — maybe that would be a nice background watch for me learning how to crochet :)

P.S. This is the first post I'm typing out with my new keyboard: I finally replaced Apple's Magic Keyboard that I've been using for several years already with Keychron B6 Pro. And, so far, I don't like it, huh! I got it because I couldn't get my hands on Keychron K15 Max (Alice Layout) that I've been eyeing for a long time already. So I gave up and got their basic slim keyboard. My problem with Magic Keyboard was that I couldn't get a good grip on the keys to type faster and I also didn't feel much feedback from pressing the keys. The keys on B6 Pro are higher but they are made of such slippery plastic that there's no grip effect either, and the F-J key bumps are laughably small, I can barely feel them. The numpad appendage also leaves too little space for the mouse on my table. The arrow keys are nice for playing Stepmania I guess. Maybe if I leave the silicon cover on I could get used to B6 Pro.. I don't know. bweh. Maybe I will try to get a K3 Max once the white ones are back in stock.
